Role Overview

We seek a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer passionate about crafting scalable systems that address real-world challenges in the short-term rental sector. In this role, you will develop, deploy, and automate products impacting property managers, their teams, and guests. If you enjoy working with APIs, automation, AI agents, cloud infrastructure, and building products from inception, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and scale Base360.ai platform to manage every aspect of short-term rental business operations.
• Develop customer-facing applications, automation engines, AI-enabled workflows, integrations, and operational tools facilitating portfolio growth while minimizing workload increments.
• Cover entire rental lifecycle functionalities including listing, pricing, reservations, guest management, property operations, and financial reporting.
• Design and implement scalable applications, services, and APIs handling availability, pricing, payments, guest experiences, and operations.
• Create event-driven workflows minimizing repetitive tasks such as scheduling cleanings, sending check-in details, and generating owner financial statements.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents to automate guest communications, maintenance triage, pricing decisions, and portfolio management.
• Build API-first architecture fostering connectivity among internal services, booking channels, third-party providers, and customer systems.
• Develop and maintain integrations with industry platforms like Airbnb, Hostaway, Stripe, Twilio, OpenAI, and Google.
• Deploy and oversee cloud-native, reliable, high-performance, and scalable infrastructure supporting global growth.
• Address complex operational challenges such as reservation synchronization, dynamic pricing algorithms, smart lock/key management, multi-channel guest messaging, operational forecasting, automation of cleaning and maintenance, owner financial workflows, and AI-driven monitoring and alerts.
• Take end-to-end ownership of projects from problem analysis through architecture, coding, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.
• Apply senior-level engineering judgement in technical decision-making, code reviews, and ensuring system reliability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven track record of designing and maintaining production-quality software systems.
• Experience with FastAPI, Python, React, or comparable frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of API design, cloud architecture, and distributed systems.
• Skill in creating scalable backend services and robust data models.
• Ability to operate independently and make sound, strategic technical decisions.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a product-oriented mindset.
• Genuine curiosity about AI, automation, and improving operational efficiencies.

• Familiarity with event-driven system architectures.
• Experience working with Supabase and AWS serverless infrastructure.
