Role Overview

This Senior Software Engineer will be pivotal in enhancing the dependability, scalability, and operation of the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) platform. The role involves architecting and implementing distributed systems that strengthen resilient workflow processing, supporting the expansion of Chainlink's flagship platform offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable platform services to enhance CRE platform stability and performance.
• Lead backend API and service development to cater to diverse internal and external platform users.
• Propose and implement architectural solutions facilitating vertical and horizontal scaling.
• Increase workflow execution robustness and platform fault tolerance via rigorous engineering and testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-departmental engineering teams to drive holistic platform projects from design phases to deployment.
• Promote platform stewardship by minimizing operational silos, enhancing documentation quality, and fostering shared knowledge within engineering teams.
• Advance platform reliability employing engineering best practices aligned with service reliability targets and measurable outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing, creating, and operating extensive production-grade platforms.
• Expert proficiency in writing production software using Go (Golang).
• Demonstrable experience building and managing backend services and APIs servicing multiple stakeholders.
• Strong background in the design and operation of distributed systems.
• Commitment to delivering dependable, high-quality software through disciplined engineering practices.
• Excellent systems-thinking capabilities to assess architectural tradeoffs and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and commitment to ongoing learning.
• Effective communication and collaborative skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Skills and Interests

• Experience establishing, tracking, and improving service reliability through SLOs and SLIs.
• Familiarity with programming in TypeScript, Solidity, or other backend languages.
• Strong enthusiasm for blockchain infrastructures and Web3 technology.
• Background in building decentralized applications (dApps).
• Experience working on financial systems, banking software, or other critical distributed infrastructure.
