Position Overview
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Employees Platform, you will be a key experienced member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology solutions that support the firm's business goals. You will play a critical role in crafting technology solutions spanning multiple technical areas across diverse business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, employing innovative approaches to overcome complex challenges.
- Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems.
- Utilize authorized enterprise AI-assisted coding tools to enhance code quality, speed of delivery, and productivity in complex projects, ensuring outputs meet security and quality standards through peer review and automated testing.
- Apply expertise across software development lifecycle toolchains, including AI-driven development and automation, to maximize automation value.
- Create architecture and design documentation for complex applications, ensuring that software development adheres to design constraints.
- Collect, analyze, and visualize large, heterogeneous data sets to drive continuous improvement of applications and systems.
- Proactively detect underlying issues and trends within data to enhance coding standards and system architecture.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Formal education or certification in software engineering concepts coupled with advanced applied experience.
- Practical hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining software in large corporate settings using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Proficiency with enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools, demonstrating critical evaluation and refinement of AI-generated code for accuracy, security, and performance.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices within engineering workflows, including data privacy, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and maintaining resilience and security, along with the ability to mentor peers on these practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong grasp of agile methodologies, including continuous integration/deployment, application resiliency, and security principles.
- Proficiency in building production services using Python frameworks like Flask or FastAPI and/or Node.js frameworks such as Express or NestJS, alongside developing modern web user interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, working with relational or document-oriented databases, and automated testing using tools like pytest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
- Familiarity operating services in AWS environments utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Spinnaker.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience with TypeScript in both server-side and client-side development.
- Knowledge of event-driven or messaging architectures such as Kafka or Amazon SQS.
- Familiarity with observability tools including Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or OpenTelemetry.
- Prior work experience within financial services or regulated industries.
