Job Overview
Step forward in your software development career as a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase, serving within the Asset Wealth Management division. This role entails being an integral, experienced member of an agile team tasked with crafting and deploying reliable, secure, and scalable technology products that support the firm's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software solutions, engaging in design, coding, and the resolution of complex technical issues with innovative approaches beyond standard methods.
- Produce secure, high-caliber production code and maintain synchronous algorithms aligned with key systems.
- Utilize enterprise-approved AI coding assistance tools to enhance code quality, accelerate delivery, improve documentation, and automate tests, complemented by rigorous peer reviews and adherence to secure coding standards.
- Leverage tools within the Software Development Life Cycle, including AI-driven development aids and automation, to maximize efficiency and value.
- Create architecture and design documentation for sophisticated applications, ensuring that software meets predefined design parameters.
- Aggregate and analyze extensive, diverse datasets to generate insights and visual reports that facilitate continuous software and systems enhancement.
- Identify latent issues and data patterns proactively, using insights for refining code quality and system architecture.
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Develop and sustain comprehensive TDD/BDD test cases to ensure thorough test coverage.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Formal software engineering certification and at least three years of practical experience implementing software solutions.
- Proven experience in system architecture design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
- Competency in modern programming and database query languages within large-scale corporate environments.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-sanctioned AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, with the ability to critically assess and validate AI output in terms of accuracy, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI application in engineering workflows, including secure handling of data and adherence to resilience and security norms, with capability to mentor others on its safe and effective integration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience using Java and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.
- Strong familiarity with RESTful API design principles.
- Proficient in testing frameworks including JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Solid grasp of agile practices including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security considerations.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to contemporary front-end technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as ECS, S3, and Lambda.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Cline, and Claude Code.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities enabling efficient collaboration within teams.
