Role Overview

The Staff Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Transaction Journey (TJ) team, leveraging deep expertise in frontend web development to create impactful products. This leadership position involves overseeing the design and implementation of a collaborative transaction management platform that simplifies various aspects of property transactions including forms, eSignatures, compliance, and commissions. The goal is to ease agents’ workflows, enabling more client-focused time and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the architectural strategy, data integration, and normalization to deliver an industry-leading search solution scalable at large volumes.
• Lead independently complex projects spanning multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Promote operational excellence by setting reliability metrics, driving accountability for service health, and initiating architectural enhancements that reduce technical debt and manual interventions.
• Incorporate modern software paradigms including AI integration, data pipelines, and telemetry to automate business processes.
• Work within a scalable engineering culture that values AI-assisted workflows, modular system design, and automated CI/CD pipelines with testing and monitoring.
• Recruit, mentor, and inspire engineering colleagues.
• Contribute to high-visibility, challenging projects within a collaborative environment.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Over a decade of experience in developing high-quality, tested software using Typescript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS.
• At least five years of professional experience with React and Node.js frameworks.
• Minimum of three years working with AWS or other cloud services.
• Proven technical leadership with cross-team influence.
• Strong adherence to software design best practices, coupled with up-to-date knowledge of emerging AI technologies.
• An eye for design, crafting products that are both functional and visually intuitive, anticipating user needs.
• Exceptional critical thinking and communication capabilities, with a dedication to operational excellence.
• Experience with continuous integration/delivery, containerization, and Agile/Scrum workflows.
• Effective verbal and written communication, demonstrating empathy towards end-users and development peers.
• Preferred: Backend programming knowledge in Java, Golang, or Python.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Kafka, event-driven architectures, gRPC, Thrift, or similar protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $228,000 to $240,000, variable based on experience and skills. Additional bonuses and stock units may supplement the total compensation, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
