Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our WhatsApp team, responsible for building, scaling, and expanding Braze's global messaging channels, including WhatsApp, LINE, and Kakao. The team manages message sending, analytics, subscription management, and provides a powerful dashboard for composing messages alongside a parallelized messaging platform.

As an engineer, you will collaborate with your team to develop new features, enhance performance, and contribute to architectural decisions. You will address significant engineering challenges such as redesigning core components for scalability and resilience. Candidate Profile

• Between 2 to 4 years of full-stack software development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
• Self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
• Experience working effectively within a team environment.
• Preferred but not required: experience with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience building distributed systems at scale is a plus.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

For Canadian candidates, the starting salary range is expected between CA$142,538 and CA$235,736 annually, with on-target earnings of CA$156,000 to CA$258,000 per year including performance-based incentives. Compensation packages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Beyond salary, the role offers equity grants (restricted stock units) making you a partial owner of the company.
