About the HRIS Product Team

The HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) team manages comprehensive employee data handling—hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and internal transitions—ensuring data accuracy and completeness, which underpins Rippling’s core product ecosystem. As Rippling scales globally and diversifies product lines, HRIS is essential in integrating new customers and product offerings into a unified workforce platform.

The HRIS team consists of several verticals:

  • HRIS Flows Experience: Designing user-friendly workflows for seamless employee data management.
  • HRIS Flows Infrastructure: Building a scalable, reliable backend supporting all HRIS flow products.
  • HR Applications: Creating user interfaces and tools for effective employee data interaction.
  • Org Management: Developing systems for customizable organizational structures across company sizes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and product leadership to define vision, strategy, and development roadmap, balancing platform foundation and product innovation.
  • Lead key projects including architectural redesigns, process improvements in hiring, boosting engineering productivity, and managing incident response protocols.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship within a dynamic startup setting to a wide-ranging engineering team.
  • Advance team capabilities by guiding members to handle larger projects confidently.
  • Elevate engineering standards by implementing and maintaining quality assurance tools, monitoring systems, and organizational processes.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven background in developing customer-facing software products.
  • Experience dealing with systems at considerable technical and organizational scale.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Strong skills in designing well-abstracted and architected software projects.
  • Competency in creating scalable, extensible core services utilized across multiple products.
