About the Identity and Access Management Team

The Identity and Access Management team delivers a secure, dependable, and seamless Identity Management Platform crucial for authenticating and authorizing every access request to Postman’s ecosystem. This gateway empowers users to access various Postman services and collaborate effectively with peers, fostering innovation in a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and sustain new features while enhancing performance and quality of Postman’s products.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering units to define, develop, test, and deploy new capabilities.
• Enhance system reliability by refining existing tests and authoring additional automated tests.
• Address scalability challenges in microservices owned by the collections team.
• Partner with management to set roadmaps and service-level agreements for owned microservices.
• Conduct code reviews and promote superior software engineering practices through mentorship and advocacy.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years experience in developing sophisticated, distributed software systems at scale.
• Proficient in one or more high-level programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Solid grasp of web technologies and fundamentals.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Strong foundation in computer science concepts including algorithms, networking, and operating systems; familiarity with JavaScript tools and development methodologies.
• Effective communicator capable of constructive collaboration and providing thoughtful feedback to peers and leadership.
• Ability to produce testable, maintainable, and clear code.
• Curious by nature with a strong desire to understand system internals and continuously learn.
