Job Overview
Join Amazon to advance innovative solutions in delivering packages directly to customers. As a Software Development Manager within the Last Mile Payments team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting a cutting-edge payments platform managing billions in transactions for Amazon's Last Mile operations worldwide. This platform supports delivery services including Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Restaurants, Amazon Lockers, and other emergent projects.
Role Responsibilities
Leading a high-performance team focused on innovation, the Software Development Manager ensures excellence across all software lifecycle stages such as design, development, documentation, testing, and ongoing operations. The role demands hands-on technical leadership combined with strong communication and self-motivation to deliver superior results swiftly.
Required Qualifications
- Over three years managing engineering teams.
- Seven or more years of direct engineering team experience.
- At least three years designing or architecting new and existing systems with emphasis on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Eight or more years leading multi-tier web service development.
- Familiarity with full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
- Experience collaborating with product and program management teams.
Preferred Skills
- Proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders including users, technical teams, and executive leadership to gather requirements and articulate product features, technical designs, and strategic vision.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and effectively managing software engineering teams to bolster productivity and skills.
- Hands-on experience with various technology stacks ranging across front-end interfaces to back-end systems.
