About the Role and Team
You will join the Kindle Content Experience (KINEX) team, dedicated to delivering exceptional reading experiences across Kindle applications and devices by collaborating with publishers and authors. The team focuses on providing tools and technology that enable high-quality ebook layout, typography, and fonts to ensure consistency and quality across platforms.
As a Senior Product Manager (Technical), you will define and implement a product roadmap aiming to earn publisher and author trust, thereby providing top-tier reading experiences. Your role includes shaping the group's vision and strategy and managing feature roadmaps. This position is highly cross-functional, involving collaboration with engineering, UX, research, operations, vendor management, and executive leadership to launch impactful products and features. The role operates globally, coordinating with international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive initiatives to enhance content experience on all Kindle platforms.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering and UX to deliver projects punctually.
- Conceive and execute strategic, innovative, high-quality product roadmaps based on comprehensive internal and external analyses.
- Leverage customer feedback, behavior analytics, and data to refine product features and ensure relevance.
- Collaborate globally with teams across various countries.
Team Overview
The KINEX team manages the user experience for Kindle apps on iOS, Android, FireOS, e-readers, web, and PC/Mac. Responsibilities encompass app interfaces such as Library, Home, Settings, and in-book experiences like content presentation and audiobooks. The team excludes store details and publishing/subscription aspects.
Our vision is to transform Kindle into the premier digital reading platform worldwide, a "magical piece of paper" enabling immersive engagement with literature.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with a minimum of 2 years in consumer or enterprise product management.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions to deliver projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience in coordinating product development and software delivery schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA degree.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field from a recognized top-tier university.
- Experience in launching consumer software products in fast-paced environments.
- Background in technical product management, program management, or software engineering.
- Excellent communication and data presentation skills to interact with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Previous hands-on software engineering experience.
- A strong passion for reading.
