About the Role

Join Amazon's Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) team to architect and lead development of critical systems that enable global sellers to store and ship billions of products effectively. FBA offers a flexible, pay-as-you-use infrastructure connecting sellers worldwide including Fortune 50 companies and small businesses, facilitating global marketplace growth.

As a Software Development Manager within FBA, you will steer the strategic and operational aspects of features and functionalities designed to optimize seller experience and supply chain efficiency. Your leadership will focus on enhancing inventory management, reducing costs, and ensuring more products reach customers swiftly under Prime delivery promises. This role encourages innovation by leveraging Amazon's expansive technology ecosystem, including AWS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior FBA leaders to formulate product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Lead execution of software projects ensuring adherence to plans, and architect scalable, reliable designs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing software development team.
  • Manage all operational metrics and oversee support systems.
  • Coordinate closely with development teams in multiple global locations, including Bellevue, Toronto, and Bangalore.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years managing engineering teams.
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience.
  • 8+ years leading multi-tier web service development.
  • Strong grasp of full software lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, certifications, and production operations.
  • Experience collaborating with product and program management.
  • Proficiency in designing scalable, reliable systems including architecture and design patterns.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams and senior leaders to gather requirements and articulate product vision.
  • Experience in recruitment, mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering teams to enhance productivity and skills.
