About the Role
We seek a seasoned and proactive Head of Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) to oversee all operational risk management activities related to asset protection, loss prevention, and both physical and cyber security. This position operates within a dynamic quick commerce setting, requiring strategic vision, swift response capabilities, and hands-on leadership to mitigate losses throughout warehouses, dark stores, and last-mile logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a robust loss prevention strategy addressing inventory shrinkage, pilferage, fraudulent activities, damages, and theft during delivery.
- Assess and identify operational risks and vulnerabilities along the supply chain.
- Initiate corrective and preventive measures utilizing data analytics, audits, and in-depth root cause analyses.
- Establish and maintain physical security protocols across all facilities including dark stores, micro-fulfillment centers, hubs, and regional distribution centers.
- Oversee access control mechanisms, surveillance systems such as CCTV, alarms, and emergency response procedures.
- Lead the security response team handling onsite incidents, thefts, or security breaches.
- Implement security protocols for rider and last-mile operations, ensuring package integrity, monitoring rider behavior, and tracking delivery exceptions in real time.
- Design standard operating procedures for handling lost or missing packages, customer disputes, and fraudulent delivery claims.
- Coordinate with legal and HR departments to address violations or misconduct effectively.
- Conduct periodic audits of risk at store and warehouse locations and ensure readiness for audits.
- Investigate suspicious activities, theft, or fraud, both internal and external.
- Ensure adherence to local regulations, labor safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage relationships with external security vendors, surveillance equipment providers, and security technology partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, finance, and legal to integrate loss prevention policies seamlessly.
- Regularly report to senior leadership on risk factors, incident patterns, and security status.
- Partner with analytics and BI teams to build dashboards highlighting shrinkage trends, incident concentration, and exception reports.
- Leverage live data to forecast and mitigate potential security threats proactively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PCI (Payment Card Industry), or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) are advantageous.
- At least 10 years of experience in security and loss prevention roles, ideally within e-commerce, quick commerce, retail, or logistics sectors.
- Proven ability to oversee distributed operations with substantial inventory turnover and cash-sensitive procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of both physical and digital security frameworks.
- Experience managing cases involving internal fraud, vendor collusion, or theft in delivery processes is highly valued.
