Role Overview
The role of Assistant Category Manager at Noon involves leading the profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities for assigned categories and executing strategic plans to drive substantial growth. The role includes expanding assortment, optimizing inventory, pricing strategy, and building powerful partnerships to ensure category success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in crafting and executing the overall category roadmap and vision, identifying growth opportunities to scale categories significantly.
- Achieve targets related to revenue, P&L, and conversion rates for the category.
- Expand assortment, efficiently plan inventory, establish price leadership, forge key partnerships, ensure timely launches, and drive monetization efforts.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience through compelling assortment of products, effective site merchandising, outstanding product detail pages, engaging content, and thorough understanding of consumer journeys within the category.
- Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with sellers and brands to uncover offering gaps, enhance engagement in marketing campaigns, and promote the adoption of Noon’s tools and platforms.
- Address seller feedback, collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product development, site operations, and seller support to improve the seller and customer experience continually.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations, customer service, legal, and seller teams to optimize the shopping experience and drive results based on customer data analysis.
- Monitor regional and global competitor trends and business innovations to evolve the category's product offering continuously.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of account managers and business development executives, encouraging high performance and teamwork.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated strong action orientation and resourcefulness in fast-paced, rapidly evolving business contexts.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis with experience using querying languages such as SQL, R, or Python; advanced skills in spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
- Effective stakeholder management capabilities.
