Role Overview
Our Energy and Power division is expanding, and we seek a Senior Transmission Lines Engineer to play a pivotal role on a variety of high voltage transmission projects throughout New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region. You will contribute to projects spanning initial design phases to construction support, working on critical infrastructure that supports the energy transition.
This position offers flexibility with location options in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or remote within New Zealand. Being part of Jacobs' Transmission Lines team, you will benefit from local expert mentorship and access to a broad network of regional specialists, enabling cross-border collaboration and professional growth.
You will engage in a dynamic mix of technical design work, regional teamwork, and site visits that may take you to remote and diverse locations across the country.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Lead and assist in transmission line engineering and design efforts.
- Hold a degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrate proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as PLS-CADD, TOWER, or POLE software.
- Possess knowledge of relevant technical standards including AS/NZS, IEEE, and IEC.
- Apply practical problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset within multidisciplinary teams.
