Job Overview
This role involves spearheading business development activities in the Grid Automation (GA) market, handling product prequalification, competitor and market analysis, as well as delivering level 2 technical support and maintaining close customer relationships across the MENAT region, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The position requires collaboration with sales, engineering, and service teams, and reports to the GA TAE Leader MENAT.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical marketing initiatives and identify opportunities leveraging installed base and market intelligence.
- Deliver L2 application support by addressing technical customer inquiries, developing tailored solutions, assisting in scheme engineering, and analyzing field device performance.
- Lead product promotion activities such as launches, presentations, spec-in engagements, exhibitions, and site trials in coordination with marketing, focusing on securing product approvals aligned with regional priorities.
- Investigate and resolve product problems or quality issues reported by customers, supporting local corrective actions as needed.
- Assist tendering teams by reviewing technical and commercial requirements, and provide negotiation support during contract finalizations.
- Monitor commercial channels and market trends to enhance GA solution awareness, collect competitor data, market share insights, and track evolving customer specifications.
- Manage product lifecycle awareness including obsolescence, firmware upgrades, feature changes, and product literature support, ensuring customer alignment with regional strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least 8 years of experience involving commissioning of protection products, application engineering, or related engineering projects within the Grid Automation field, including site experience.
- Deep knowledge of protection and automation products similar to EHV ranges such as UR, SR, 8 Series, and MiCOM, along with a clear understanding of competitors' offerings.
- Mandatory site testing and commissioning expertise to perform detailed analyses, demonstrations, and sample installations.
- Broad experience in utilities and industrial sectors, especially oil & gas applications, covering motors, generators, feeders, transformers, and ATS schemes; prior engagement with O&G is highly advantageous.
- Ability and readiness to travel up to 60% as necessary.
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external stakeholder interaction.

- Proven experience conducting technical training sessions and engagement with EHV/HV utility customers, industry, O&G firms, EPCs, OEMs, and system integrators.
- Additional testing and commissioning experience with industrial automation and protection systems is advantageous.
- Proactive, creative, energetic working style and active participation in international forums, conferences, and working groups.
