Role Overview

As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer specializing in DevOps, you will work with cutting-edge cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) to design, develop, and automate infrastructure supporting a distributed architecture. You will partner closely with platform engineering to deploy and verify environment changes that serve millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure and automation for distributed system architectures.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for speed and reliability while minimizing change lead times.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks at infrastructure and application layers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet stringent service level objectives and agreements.
• Support high-availability web and backend systems processing thousands of requests per second.
• Work alongside developers to configure cloud services on AWS for new feature rollouts.
• Secure cloud infrastructure using IAM and application layer security practices like PKI.
• Establish extensive monitoring and alerting frameworks integrating internal tools and third-party SaaS.
• Implement comprehensive infrastructure-as-code solutions across the platform.
• Create developer productivity tools and advocate automation to reduce manual operational tasks.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in DevOps roles.
• At least 5 years of experience managing databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MSSQL.
• Over 4 years of experience orchestrating distributed microservice deployments using Kubernetes and EC2.
• Significant experience managing EKS clusters and deep knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expertise with AWS including multi-region infrastructure deployment using Terraform.
• Proficient in automation and development using Python, TypeScript, Go, or Bash focused on scalable and self-healing solutions.
• Experience in containerization and orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and service meshes like Istio or Linkerd.
• Skilled in managing high-availability data stores such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and message queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Competent in observability practices with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch stacks and integrating CI/CD with GitHub/GitLab.
• Strong troubleshooting skills spanning networking to application-layer concerns.
• Security-focused approach throughout infrastructure as code, containerization, and microservice deployments.
