Role Overview
The Singapore Back End Manufacturing unit at Micron is seeking a proactive and driven Senior Test Equipment Engineer within the MSB Test Engineering department. Your core responsibilities will include supporting test operations via developing frameworks, monitoring engineering metrics, promoting continuous improvements in tester utilization, and overseeing new tester installation and qualification. You will harness data analytics, automation, and AI tools to boost engineering efficiencies, enhance equipment reliability, and improve decision-making. An integral part of your role is mentoring team members to build technical capabilities and enhance their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance test equipment uptime using methodologies such as equipment FMEA, potential problem analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Optimize spare parts management to ensure cost-effective maintenance of high equipment availability and minimize downtime.
- Continuously monitor equipment performance metrics, generating reports and dashboards for leadership review.
- Conduct engineering assessments to drive improvements in equipment efficiency, utilization, and capability.
- Automate data collection for test equipment and perform assessments to reduce yield losses related to equipment issues.
- Apply data analytics and AI-enabled solutions to detect equipment degradation trends and improve maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing personnel, leading shift technicians to meet output and quality objectives.
- Manage setup and qualification of new testers, partnering with logistics and facilities teams throughout the process.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly, focusing on root cause analysis and solutions.
- Coordinate new product test runs, support production application deployments, and carry out validation testing.
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures promptly, implementing effective fixes and workarounds.
- Oversee management of test equipment hardware, software, process changes, and associated documentation.
- Utilize AI-driven knowledge tools and data insights to accelerate troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Participate in projects aiming to boost overall test equipment efficiency and performance.
- Develop software and automation solutions to monitor the test production floor and elevate productivity.
- Regularly review test plans to identify and implement reductions in test time for mature products.
- Integrate AI technologies and data analytics to optimize equipment productivity and operational workflows.
- Prepare and deliver training and certification materials on failure analysis.
- Document key lessons learned and provide ongoing performance feedback to direct reports.
- Coach team members on effective use of automation, data analytics, and AI tools to enhance engineering skills.
- Incorporate AI-assisted tools responsibly in daily work to improve effectiveness while adhering to organizational standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and sharing AI-driven enhancements within your work scope.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Data Engineering, or similar engineering disciplines with relevant experience.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance, equipment automation, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, or related technologies is beneficial.
- Knowledge of data analytics, AI/ML, equipment health monitoring, or digital manufacturing solutions is advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming and analytics tools such as Python, C++, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents is highly valued.
- Experience with automation, system integration, and Microsoft productivity software is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with equipment operations, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting.
- Background in equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and leading continuous improvement efforts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills leveraging data-driven insights to develop lasting improvements.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and influence improvements.
- Ability to champion digital transformation and support AI-enabled tools responsibly.
