Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, pursuit, management, and execution of major environmental approval projects.
• Promote technical excellence across WSP's Ecology & Environmental Approvals Business Unit.
• Support the implementation of Expertise/Technical Excellence strategies and technical training aligned with national initiatives.
• Drive expansion of client relationships and business portfolios across WA, SA, and VIC, focusing on mining, resources, and government sectors.
• Champion and model a zero harm health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant obligations.
• Assist in strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to strengthen team depth and resilience.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
• Bring 20 to 25+ years of experience in environmental approvals.
• Demonstrate a well-established ability to build and lead high-performing teams with deep technical knowledge.
• Experienced in strategy development, business growth, and talent development/retention.
• Exhibit exceptional technical performance and quality assurance through innovative approaches and continuous improvement.
• Proficient in collaborating with industry leaders and client relationship managers to optimize market presence, revenue, and client service quality.
• Skilled in risk management for complex, sizeable projects.
• Experienced in mentoring and transferring technical expertise within organizations.
• Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a strong record of fostering interpersonal relationships.
