About the Role

Join WSP's Sydney Structures team as a Senior BIM Technician, where you'll manage the seamless production of design documentation and Building Information Models (BIM) for structural projects. This role is vital for maintaining BIM delivery capabilities and ensuring coordination across design and construction teams. You'll serve as the central contact for model coordination, guaranteeing quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards, client requirements, and industry norms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage in Revit modeling for building structures according to WSP's standards.
• Produce precise and coordinated documentation including plans, sections, elevations, reinforcement detailing, precast documentation, and general arrangements.
• Facilitate collaboration with designers for both inputting and extracting data from BIM models.
• Mitigate project risks by early clash detection and streamlining information flow.
• Support the digital skills enhancement of the team and uphold high-quality BIM outputs.
• Enhance design delivery efficiency through effective model management.
• Act as a liaison between design, construction, and digital teams.
• Coordinate project requirements and distribute modeling resources accordingly.
• Implement BIM tools and workflows for delivering complex building services projects.
• Interpret and apply BIM standards and protocols accurately.
• Ensure drawings and registration systems comply with specifications and standards.
• Maintain technical standards consistent with contractual obligations.
• Communicate confidently with clients and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Degree in Building Design, Drafting, Discipline Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in a BIM role, including work on large or multidisciplinary projects.
• Expertise in modeling building structures, proficient with reinforced concrete, precast concrete, and structural steel.
• Strong skills in BIM software like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, or ACC.
• Comprehensive understanding of BIM processes and standards such as ISO 19650.
• Experience in model coordination and digital delivery workflows.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capable of managing multiple project deadlines and priorities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
