Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute marine geophysical surveys and investigations across diverse projects such as ports, marinas, offshore installations, and water infrastructure including tailings dams and river crossings.
• Manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables including proposals, tenders, and detailed reports.
• Provide expert technical guidance, review team outputs, and promote a culture of quality and excellence within the geophysics discipline.
• Support specialists from other disciplines with marine geophysics insights and methodologies.
• Mentor junior geophysicists in technical skills, project management, and client relations to foster professional growth and capability building.

Candidate Profile

• Degree holder in Geophysics or related field; advanced degrees such as Master's or PhD are an advantage.
• Over 10 years of documented experience in marine geophysics, with recognized expertise in the discipline.
• Proven track record of involvement in marine projects including port and harbour developments, offshore pipelines, cable routes, and wind energy assessments.
• Strong skills in client engagement and stakeholder management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of marine geophysical survey techniques such as bathymetry, sub-bottom profiling, seismic reflection, side-scan sonar, and magnetometry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software packages: SonarWiz, Hypack, RadexPro, DUG, Kingdom, Qinsy, ReflexW, and Rayfract.
• Committed to mentoring and nurturing upcoming geophysicists.
• Collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams.
• Possession of a valid, unrestricted Australian driver’s license.

Desirable Certifications

• Coxswain Certificate
• BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
• ADAS Commercial or Scientific Diver Certification
