Role Overview

We seek driven engineers passionate about solving intricate technical problems, crafting robust and scalable backend systems, and working closely with diverse teams to deliver outstanding user experiences. Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, test, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available backend services and distributed architectures.
• Own the entire software development life cycle for new initiatives and feature improvements, from concept through deployment and upkeep.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and engineering peers to interpret business needs, suggest technical solutions, and deliver quality outcomes.
• Engage in system design deliberations focusing on scalability, performance, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Create and sustain APIs, microservices, event-driven components, and data pipelines supporting large consumer-facing systems.
• Work alongside QA and DevOps/SRE teams to enforce quality, monitoring, security, and operational standards throughout software delivery.
• Diagnose and remediate complex production problems, conduct root cause assessments, and implement preventive solutions enhancing system stability.
• Enhance system efficiency, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across applications, databases, and infrastructure.
• Produce and update technical documentation including designs, architectural decisions, operational workflows, and testing methodologies.
• Advocate engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, security, and software craftsmanship standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and technical discussions.
• Remain updated on emerging tech trends and best practices, promoting their integration when suitable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
• Minimum five years of hands-on experience developing backend software for products.
• Proven track record delivering software systems servicing millions of users.
• Expertise in diagnosing and debugging distributed systems.
• Experience optimizing performance across software components.
• Adaptability to fast-evolving environments and priorities is desirable.

Additional Advantageous Experience

• Background in loyalty programs, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or consumer tech sectors.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native solutions.
• Knowledge of data engineering tools, streaming technologies, or event-driven frameworks.
• Experience building high-availability, low-latency, and secure systems.
