Role Overview

We are looking for passionate individuals with intellectual curiosity and a collaborative spirit to join our team as Senior/Data Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable, reliable data platform based on data mesh principles and modern data technologies.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data from multiple sources.
• Work closely with engineers across various domains to identify their data requirements and develop self-service platform features, enhance developer experience, and build data access tools and APIs.
• Support development and enhancement of internal Data Products/Marts, data modeling, and usability of data products.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics teams, and internal/external data platform users to fulfill their data needs.
• Enhance data quality, observability, lineage, governance, and lifecycle management within the platform.
• Contribute to engineering best practices like CI/CD, testing, monitoring, documentation, and code reviews.
• Assess and introduce new technologies to boost developer productivity and scalability of the platform.
• Follow and help improve data standards, best practices, and oversee the full Data Platform lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in data modeling; background as a backend software engineer is an asset.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages including SQL, Python, and Java or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data processing frameworks and data warehousing solutions.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehouse concepts, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) with tradeoff considerations, modern warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, and data mesh architectures.
• Experience with modern data stack tools such as Snowflake, dbt-core, Airflow, or equivalent technologies is advantageous.
• Skilled in building, deploying, and maintaining data lifecycle management tools.
• Understanding of data mesh concepts is a plus.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
