Senior Java Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Backend Engineer proficient in designing and developing robust, scalable microservices. This role involves comprehensive backend development, including API design and production-level integration testing, primarily leveraging modern Java and Spring technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend microservices utilizing Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3 frameworks.
• Create and document clear, efficient REST APIs.
• Implement event-driven services using Kafka for asynchronous communication.
• Apply domain-driven design (DDD) methodologies to organize services aligned with business functions.
• Use MapStruct for object mapping and Feign to facilitate service-to-service calls.
• Oversee build processes and dependencies via Gradle.
• Develop meaningful integration tests reflecting realistic service scenarios beyond unit testing.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver maintainable, high-quality code.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java 17 or newer versions and Spring Boot 3.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and sustaining microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in Kafka, including producer and consumer development and event-driven design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of REST API design standards.
• Experience using Gradle for build and dependency management.
• Familiarity with MapStruct and Feign tools.
• Understanding and practical application of domain-driven design (DDD) patterns.
• Capability to design and implement comprehensive integration testing.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud-native platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
