Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Scheduling Executive plays a crucial role in managing the quarterly and daily detailed broadcast schedules for the company's free-to-air TV channels. This role focuses on strategically positioning programmes, trailers, interstitials, and fillers to enhance promotional effectiveness, viewer engagement, and overall channel performance.

Primary Duties

  • Create, manage, and implement broadcast schedules on a quarterly and daily basis for designated channels, ensuring schedules are timely and accurate.
  • Optimize placement of promotional content, trailers, and fillers to maximize audience reach and programme visibility.
  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and strategic plans while collaborating with internal departments such as Playout, On-Air Promotions, Marketing, Content Standards, Subtitling, Commercials, and Media Exchange to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Partner with management in developing SOPs and operational strategies for live events, providing standby support as necessary.
  • Coordinate the planning and scheduling of secondary on-screen elements like banners and channel bugs, ensuring sponsorship commitments are accurately fulfilled.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolve scheduling and operational challenges with managerial consultation to minimize broadcast disruptions.
  • Exhibit flexibility when handling last-minute scheduling alterations and maintain rigorous attention to detail.
  • Conduct complete reconciliation of schedules verifying all data, content metadata, and sponsorship compliance.
  • Produce and analyze reports monitoring sponsorship performance to guarantee contractual adherence.
  • Manage electronic programme guide (EPG) schedules by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of programme information, metadata, and synopses across platforms.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mass Communication, Media and Communication, or related fields in media production, broadcasting, or digital media technologies.
  • Ideally 1 to 2 years’ experience in television broadcasting or media industries preferred;
  • Experience in scheduling, traffic management, or media operations is an advantage.
  • Applicants without prior experience, including fresh graduates, are welcome as full training will be provided.
  • Basic familiarity with broadcast scheduling systems and processes.
  • Strong enthusiasm and interest in local and international television content.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Good problem-solving aptitude and capacity to independently manage tasks with minimal oversight.
