Producer, Tamil Current Affairs

Job Summary

This role involves comprehensive responsibility for the research, scripting, and production of the weekly Tamil current affairs program, Ethiroli. Responsibilities include arranging interviews, filming, and editing content for the show as well as creating associated promotional materials such as trailers and promos.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of Ethiroli episodes, from research to final delivery.
• Coordinate interviews, filming, and video editing tasks to produce compelling episodes.
• Collaborate closely with the show presenter during filming sessions.
• Develop scripts and produce promotional content for television, radio, digital, and social media platforms to expand the program’s audience reach.
• Leverage connections with Indian/Tamil community influencers and grassroots organizations to enrich programming.
• Produce engaging written content to appeal to the Tamil-speaking audience.
• Contribute to other Current Affairs and News programs as needed.
• Support promotional and marketing efforts, including coordinating ground events related to current affairs programming.
• Participate in special projects or assignments as directed by editorial leadership.
• Function as a team player with producers, assistant producers, and production crew.
• Utilize basic multimedia shooting and video editing skills.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hold a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Arts, or Social Sciences.
• Possess a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience within journalism or media sectors.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken Tamil language.
• Show a genuine passion for news, current affairs, and issues pertinent to the local Indian/Tamil community.
• Experience working with filming and video editing software is regarded as beneficial.
