Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in designing and delivering building services for industrial and infrastructure-related projects.
• Develop engineering solutions that are safe, compliant, and economically viable, aligning with international standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and local regulations.
• Lead design efforts involving fire protection systems including hydrants, sprinklers, foam systems, and clean agent solutions.
• Design domestic water distribution systems catering to both potable and non-potable needs.
• Design various drainage systems such as sanitary, stormwater, oily water, and condensate handling.
• Conduct essential engineering calculations including firewater demand, hydraulic modeling, pipe sizing, and system optimization.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation including basis reports, technical specifications, schematics, layouts, detailed drawings, equipment datasheets, and other technical documents.
• Engage in fire protection engineering by designing and reviewing firewater networks, pumps, storage facilities, and all associated distribution systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local civil defense mandates.
• Formulate fire protection strategies, system layouts, and perform related design calculations.
• Oversee complete plumbing system design covering domestic hot and cold water, utility supply, and maintenance water systems.
• Coordinate drainage systems design encompassing sanitary drainage, stormwater management, and connections with external utilities for water supply and sewage discharge.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A full-time Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university is required.
• Accreditation from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is mandatory. Applicants without this accreditation must agree to obtain it within the probationary period.
• Possessing or pursuing Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is advantageous.
• Extensive experience as a Senior Building Services Engineer with a focus on fire protection, water supply, and drainage systems in industrial or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams and projects.
• Strong understanding of various discipline design and engineering principles within building services.
