Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Geophysicist to lead the processing, interpretation, and reporting of geophysical data from Side Scan Sonar, Sub-Bottom Profiler, and seabed hazard evaluations. This role supports offshore activities and client deliverables, ensuring top-quality data analysis and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Process geophysical datasets from Side Scan Sonar and Sub-Bottom Profiler technologies.
- Analyze seabed characteristics including geological features, debris, and hazards.
- Generate route assessments, compile anomaly listings, and prepare charts.
- Evaluate third-party survey documentation for technical issues or non-compliance.
- Provide technical assistance and planning support to offshore survey teams.
- Maintain adherence to client specifications, internal policies, and health and safety standards, encouraging safe working practices.
- Contribute to tender preparation, methodology documentation, and client meetings.
- Assist offshore acquisition crews and oversee survey planning processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Geophysics, Geology, Marine Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in marine geophysics.
- Proven expertise in seabed debris and pipeline route surveys.
- Strong skills in interpreting Side Scan Sonar (SSS) and Sub-Bottom Profiler (SBP) data.
- Experience working on offshore projects in the Middle East region.
- Proficiency in software tools such as SonarWiz, Kingdom, IHS, GIS platforms, and AutoCAD or equivalents.
