Job description
Communication Responsibilities
The Estimator is responsible for managing internal and external communications integral to the shipyard's operational success. Internally, they liaise with the Commercial Manager, Vice President, other key management personnel, all Shipyard employees, Business Development and Key Accounts teams, as well as Milaha's corporate functions. Externally, their communication extends to suppliers, subcontractors, shipyard regulatory authorities, and client representatives.
Purpose and Coordination
- Prepare and submit quotations and invoices for approval, ensuring alignment with shipyard strategies and accuracy in the implementation process.
- Coordinate resource planning activities aimed at accurate cost estimation for various jobs.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to fulfill and exceed customer expectations.
- Ensure the compliance of services procured meets job specifications and adheres to Milaha's quality standards.
- Guarantee adherence to shipyard rules, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with client representatives to support ongoing and future business.
Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Accountability
The Estimator holds responsibility for their actions and omissions related to occupational health and safety. They must adhere strictly to approved safe work systems, comply with training and instruction guidelines, and promptly report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses. They possess the authority to halt any work they consider unsafe to ensure a secure work environment.
