Senior HSE Engineer

Overview

The Senior HSE Engineer spearheads the provision of expert guidance on Health, Safety, and Environmental matters within the department, ensuring all operations and projects adhere strictly to QatarEnergy's standards alongside international HSE regulations and project-specific protocols. This role offers strategic leadership and technical support to foster a secure work environment and advocate continuous enhancements in HSE performance across departmental activities.

Responsibilities and Experience Required

• Possess over 15 years of experience in HSE roles within major oil and gas projects, including offshore operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior capacity.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HSE laws, environmental obligations, and global safety standards with an emphasis on offshore contexts.
• Develop and formulate project-specific HSE plans, safety philosophies, and risk documentation.
• Conduct in-depth incident investigations, root cause analyses, and facilitate organizational learning from past events.
• Lead comprehensive HSE audits and reviews as a principal auditor.
• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to effectively manage HSE teams and coordinate with extensive contractor personnel.
• Exhibit excellent spoken and written English communication proficiency.
• Prior experience working in the Gulf region is advantageous.
• Previous role as an HSE Lead within a Project Management Team is essential.

Educational Credentials

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a globally recognized university; possession of a Master's degree is highly desired.
• Membership in a reputable professional engineering or HSE organization is mandatory.
