Job description
Overview
The Senior Commissioning Engineer is tasked with leading teams of VOR Discipline Engineers and Technicians, collaborating closely with the QatarEnergy Project Team and contractors. The goal is to ensure uniform and standardized execution of project designs, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up procedures for Operational Area (VO) projects. All actions must align with approved QatarEnergy Procedures, Guidelines, Engineering Design Specifications, and stringent Safety & Environmental Standards.
This approach aims to guarantee that:
- Operational Area Asset Owners are adequately prepared to take full control at handover, able to operate and maintain assets safely, reliably, and sustainably.
- Operational Area (VO) projects are completed efficiently—delivered more quickly, cost-effectively, and productively—while maintaining excellent quality and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities and Expertise Required
- Extensive experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities of oil and gas processing and production facilities, both onshore and offshore.
- Leadership experience in commissioning coordination or team leadership roles, ideally a minimum of eight years.
- Proficiency in operations, maintenance, and project-related pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover processes.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, and leadership qualities.
- Multidisciplinary engineering expertise, including troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Competence in IT and analytical tasks, with capacity to work effectively under high-pressure conditions.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status or its equivalent is an advantageous credential.
