Chief Engineer

About the Role

As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance activities within the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all physical assets. This role involves strategic planning, implementing maintenance regimes, and leading a skilled team to uphold high levels of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence throughout the hotel's infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with multiple departments, facilitating their technical requirements to contribute to the hotel's overall success.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute comprehensive maintenance and engineering plans to optimize facility operations.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, including onboarding, training, and evaluating performance.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance schedules that reduce equipment downtime and prolong asset life.
• Supervise repairs and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems adhering to relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage the engineering department budget by efficiently allocating resources and controlling expenses.
• Work cross-functionally with various departments to meet their technical demands and facilitate hotel activities and events.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental guidelines promoting a secure workplace.
• Assess and propose infrastructure enhancements to boost energy efficiency and sustainable operations.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and execute remedial actions minimizing operational disruptions.
• Keep detailed documentation on equipment status, repairs, and maintenance for reporting and compliance audits.
• Stay updated on latest engineering technologies, trends, and best practices to continuously improve hotel operations.
• Uphold and enforce company policies related to environmental, health, and safety standards.
