About the Role
ISS Facility Services in Blayney, NSW is seeking a dependable Maintenance Coordinator/Handyman to support daily site operations. This full-time position offers local, steady work with variety in daily tasks such as repairs, inspections, contractor coordination, and safety responsibilities. The role also involves stepping into the site’s second-in-command position during the Facility Manager’s absence, providing an excellent leadership opportunity while remaining connected to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and preventative maintenance on fixtures, fittings, building services, and equipment.
- Manage waste disposal and conduct internal and external cleaning tasks.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring adherence to safety procedures including SWMS, permits, and site safety protocols.
- Perform second-in-command duties such as leading toolbox talks, conducting safety inspections, managing stock and equipment audits, and supporting the cleaning team.
- Respond promptly to client requests, document work orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Identify faults or issues, report them efficiently, and propose improvements to increase operational efficiency and safety.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, grounds maintenance, or handyman roles.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong commitment to safety practices, including hazard recognition and preparation of job safety analyses and safe work method statements.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive working relationships.
- Confidence in determining maintenance requirements and procuring necessary materials.
- Possession of a current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Additional preferred qualifications: Trade qualifications, forklift license, workplace health and safety certifications, and manual handling training.
