About the Role
Join IDEXX's global Software Centre of Excellence in Auckland as a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the SmartFlow team, focusing on advanced .NET backend development paired with modern frontend technologies. This hybrid position requires a minimum of three days onsite weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example, delivering high-quality code for both React frontend modules and .NET backend services.
- Guide frontend architecture and enforce best practices during the migration from AngularJS to React.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, maintainable cloud-based SaaS solutions.
- Ensure comprehensive testing coverage, including unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Practice Leads to develop tailored solutions.
- Advocate for technical enhancements, including refactoring, debt reduction, and performance improvements.
- Influence engineering standards and technical direction across multiple teams.
- Foster a robust engineering culture focused on quality, automation, and ongoing advancement.

SmartFlow supports veterinary clinics in optimizing workflows to prioritize animal care. As a senior engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the platform’s frontend experience and setting the technological vision for veterinary practices globally.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated senior engineering experience within SaaS or product-driven settings.
- Expertise in modern frontend frameworks, particularly React.
- Strong proficiency in backend development using C# and .NET technologies.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and system design principles.
- Experience working in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Proven ability to mentor peers, influence engineering culture, and uphold high standards.
- Experience with modernization or migration of legacy frontend systems, AngularJS exposure advantageous.
- Strong commitment to automated testing, DevSecOps, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
