Senior Expert / Advisor - Energy Components Upstream

About the Role

We seek an experienced Senior Expert specializing in Energy Components (EC) for upstream operations to join the Professional Services team at a leading global energy software company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role involves leading high-impact deployments, upgrades, and optimization of the Energy Components platform, primarily serving upstream oil and gas clients within the Middle East and worldwide. The position requires strong technical and leadership skills to manage multiple projects and align solutions with client business processes and regional industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Guide teams of up to 15 consultants in delivering enterprise-level implementations, system upgrades, and feature enhancements of the Energy Components software suite.
• Oversee comprehensive solution architecture covering design, development, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment phases.
• Provide expert technical leadership utilizing technologies such as PL/SQL, RESTful APIs, AWS or cloud-based DevOps pipelines, and Java-based systems.
• Simultaneously manage various client engagements in complex and dynamic environments, ensuring projects meet quality and schedule expectations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level consultants to build technical expertise and foster responsibility.
• Act as a trusted consultant for clients, interpreting and mapping upstream workflows while integrating industry best practices and software capabilities.
• Lead technical and strategic discussions with client teams and senior management stakeholders.
• Design scalable, regionally compliant solutions addressing operational and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the highest quality standards in deliverables aligning with client requirements and industry benchmarks.
• Collaborate with product managers to influence and synchronize client needs with product development roadmaps and delivery schedules.
• Remain updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies relevant to energy IT solutions.
• Disseminate knowledge and insights internally across the organization.
• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical input during client meetings, contributing to proposals, and conducting tailored product demonstrations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related analytical field.
• Hands-on expertise with Quorum Energy Components software.
• Minimum of 5 years managing full lifecycle Energy Components implementations, especially in upstream oil and gas contexts.
• Proven track record working within Middle Eastern energy sectors or comparable complex environments.
• Strong understanding of upstream and downstream oil and gas business processes including gas scheduling, dispatch, sales, and revenue accounting.
• Experience gathering both business and technical requirements and translating these into scalable software solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing medium to large teams (8 or more members) and overseeing end-to-end project delivery.
• Advanced technical skills in SQL, Java or equivalent languages, and overarching system architecture concepts.
• Experience with data migration, system integration, and enterprise software environments.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and modern deployment methodologies.
• Excellent communication capabilities and experience managing relationships with senior client leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and fluency in English.

Preferred Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of the broader Quorum software ecosystem.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, SaaS delivery models, and DevOps practices.
• Robust programming background including languages like SQL, Java, or C# and understanding of enterprise system architectures.
• Prior involvement in software development initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with national oil companies or significant regional operators.
