Senior Application Engineer (Java, Cloud & AI)

Role Overview

Contribute actively to the digitization and automation of business processes within the private insurance sector by leveraging cutting-edge cloud, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies. Develop and enhance digital solutions serving customers, sales partners, and collaborators.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan architecture, and implement modern application and integration solutions.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud-based applications adhering to modern architectural and development best practices.
• Model and automate business workflows while integrating decision-making and automation components.
• Establish and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automated testing, and operational models for containerized applications.
• Work collaboratively in interdisciplinary agile teams to deploy technological solutions and advance engineering standards.
• Assume technical leadership roles and support knowledge transfer and professional growth within the team.
• Participate in initiatives to ensure quality, foster innovation, and continuously refine processes and solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years’ experience developing modern Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Solid expertise in service-oriented architectures, APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, container technologies, as well as operating and monitoring complex application landscapes.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD processes, test automation, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Experience modeling and automating business processes using BPMN, with advantageous familiarity with Camunda.
• Keen interest in artificial intelligence, including agentic AI, and its application to optimize and automate business processes.
• Understanding of modern software architectural concepts, Clean Code principles, Security-by-Design frameworks, and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Analytical mindset capable of bridging technical and business requirements successfully.
• Excellent communication skills, sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm for working within agile teams.
