Senior Mathematician / Actuary

Job Responsibilities

• Take independent charge of tariff calculations and the actuarial management of portfolios in commercial and liability insurance sectors.
• Perform and analyze evaluations of portfolio development, profitability, and risk structures to derive actionable portfolio management strategies.
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and prepare presentations of findings clearly for executive management.
• Utilize and process data to support well-founded pricing decisions.
• Apply and enhance actuarial models within the pricing context, focusing particularly on the business impact.

Candidate Profile

• Completed degree in (business) mathematics, statistics, or a comparable quantitative discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in pricing actuarial work, tariff design, or reinsurance contexts with proven expertise in rate adjustments, risk assessment, or portfolio management.
• Ability to quickly grasp and organize complex data and issues, translating them into business-relevant decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders up to executive level.
• Practical experience working with data and confident use of at least one programming language such as Python, R, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in German at C1 level and English at B2 level.
