Senior Electrical Engineer - Water Sector

Position Overview

Join WSP Australia’s expanding Water Business Group as a Senior Electrical Engineer within our Adelaide Water Utilities team. This role offers the chance to engage in significant engineering projects, collaborate with diverse experts, and contribute to meaningful water infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams nationwide to achieve project objectives.
• Engage and coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Conduct both fieldwork and desktop assessments of existing electrical systems for infrastructure upgrades.
• Draft detailed technical specifications for electrical components assisting procurement and project delivery phases.
• Leverage both technical expertise and commercial knowledge to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
• Apply specialist safety knowledge relating to protection systems, arc flash hazards, earthing, hazardous area standards, and machinery safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum six years’ experience in electrical engineering within consultancy or design roles, preferably in the Water sector; experience in Mining, Industrial or Energy sectors is also valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively pursuing it; Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards and comprehensive experience in electrical infrastructure conceptualization, design, and management.
• Experience designing PTW systems, and working with LV and ELV electrical systems as well as PLC/telemetry and instrumentation & control solutions is preferable.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to consult with clients and collaborate across teams.
