Role Overview

The Senior Landscape Engineer is tasked with overseeing and inspecting all landscape operations related to road and highway infrastructure projects within the scope of PMC and construction supervision. This role mandates ensuring all landscaping efforts conform to approved designs, specifications, environmental laws, and local authority requirements. Responsibilities include leading design and material reviews, supervising site activities, and coordinating with various stakeholders to meet project goals and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Critically assess landscape design and shop drawings along with material submissions, focusing on road and highway projects.
• Oversee and supervise on-site landscaping tasks, including planting, irrigation setup, soil enhancement, hardscape, and streetscape installations.
• Lead landscape site operations, ensuring effective coordination with contractors, inspectors, and other discipline teams.
• Guarantee that landscaping works adhere fully to approved designs, project specs, environmental regulation, and municipal standards.
• Manage inspections, testing procedures, mock-up approvals, and material acceptance specific to landscape components.
• Confirm that approved construction methodologies and quality control and health and safety standards are strictly followed.
• Handle contractor communications including RFIs, method statements, and technical submittals.
• Collaborate with PMC and construction supervision personnel as well as contractors to troubleshoot technical or site-related challenges.
• Ensure sustainability practices throughout landscaping tasks, protecting existing flora and environmental interests during construction.
• Provide technical supervision and direction to landscape inspectors and junior site staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent qualification.
• At least 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven track record specifically in road and highway infrastructure landscaping projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of irrigation systems, planting methods, and sustainable landscaping techniques.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s municipal regulations and environmental guidelines concerning landscaping.
• Strong skills in coordination, reporting, and communication across multiple teams and stakeholders.
