Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic built asset solutions team, which delivers a wide spectrum of expert building consultancy services across the UK and Europe. This permanent, full-time role is based in Birmingham, offering hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and specification of electrical building services across various commercial properties.
- Perform site inspections to monitor ongoing electrical works.
- Participate in project meetings and engage directly with clients to ensure smooth project progress.
- Conduct detailed electrical surveys and generate condition reports.
- Provide cost estimates aligned with RIBA work stages.
- Review contractor proposals and contribute to fee proposals and contract appointment documents.
- Assist in creating business growth plans focused on electrical design engineering services.
Experience and Skills
- Proven track record in delivering electrical survey and design services within construction or property sector environments.
- Background in a consultancy, main contractor, or subcontractor setting.
- Valid UK driving licence with access to a personal vehicle.
- Hands-on experience with lifecycle analysis, condition surveys, and reporting.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD and Tribble.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute positively to collective goals.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards achieving it.
- Membership of professional bodies such as MCIBSE or MIET is highly desirable.
