About the Role
Join NVIDIA as a Senior LLVM Compiler Engineer focusing on developing advanced compilers tailored for our cutting-edge GPUs. Our compiler team enables the full potential of NVIDIA's hardware across a wide spectrum of applications including next-generation graphics, deep learning, scientific research, and autonomous vehicles. This team contributes significantly to every GPU and system-on-chip product from NVIDIA, and you will have the opportunity to lead impactful projects within this elite group.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the GPU compiler backend team specializing in retargetable compiler technologies.
- Address complex challenges related to register allocation, instruction scheduling, synchronization, and loop optimization.
- Create innovative optimization strategies for workloads spanning deep learning, ray tracing, and high-performance computing by partnering with specialists in these domains.
- Develop solutions for unique issues exclusive to compiling for massively parallel GPU architectures.
- Contribute to shaping future GPU architectures through compiler design influence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in compiler design.
- Strong expertise in program analysis and advanced optimization techniques.
- Proficient in C and C++ programming languages.
- Practical experience with compiler infrastructures such as LLVM or GCC.
- Solid understanding of processor architecture.
- Experience working within global, distributed teams.
- Self-driven with a strong commitment to project completion.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence peers and stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a related field.
- Proven capability to tackle complex optimization challenges.
- Experience in instruction scheduling and register allocation algorithms.
- Background in developing applications using CUDA, DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
