Position Summary

The Senior Formal Verification Engineer will focus on formally confirming the integrity of complex hardware designs. NVIDIA’s robust formal verification methodologies enable both hardware designers and FV engineers to apply advanced property proving techniques on critical RTL logic. The role requires close collaboration with design, architecture, validation teams, and the internal FV R&D group that develops specialized verification tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine optimal applications for formal verification methods across various design components.
• Analyze functional and micro-architectural specifications to define formal verification scopes and develop comprehensive testplans for design validation.
• Construct formal verification testbenches; develop assertions, constraints, and implement abstraction to efficiently achieve property convergence and proof-depths.
• Utilize formal coverage techniques to identify over-constraints and assess functional coverage metrics.
• Create and enhance verification workflows integrating vendor and proprietary formal tools.

Requirements

• B.Tech or M.Tech degree with over 5 years of relevant experience in hardware design and verification.
• Strong grasp of hardware micro-architecture and design principles.
• Experience with formal verification technologies and complexity reduction strategies.
• Proven ability in formal property verification of complex hardware units.
• Skilled in developing high-quality testplans, formal testbenches, and diagnosing counter-examples.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or shell scripting.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
