Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our IT team in Perth. This role focuses on architecting and maintaining robust, automated orchestration engines that replace manual and fragmented IT workflows with zero-touch pipelines and reusable frameworks, enabling seamless operational efficiency and rapid organizational scaling.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain resilient automated workflows to eliminate manual processes and single-person dependencies within IT and business functions.
- Develop robust, decoupled integration frameworks utilizing REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven architectures including Kafka, SQS, and AWS Lambdas to connect applications effectively.
- Implement background user account provisioning and zero-touch access controls to reduce service desk ticket volume and support scaling.
- Establish sustainable technical standards, create self-service scaffolding, and develop reusable integration assets that empower internal teams to implement automation safely.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated ability to transform manual operational workflows into automated, reliable pipelines and integration frameworks.
- Proficient experience in event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS, and AWS Lambdas.
- Strong expertise with API integrations including REST and SOAP, custom endpoints, and secret management solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Identity Management, automated access control systems, and zero-touch provisioning within enterprise environments.
- Solid hands-on software engineering skills with practical implementation experience beyond high-level enterprise architecture.
