Job Overview

The Room Attendant role involves delivering exceptional guest service with efficiency, courtesy, and professionalism, adhering strictly to established hospitality standards. This position is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms, ensuring supplies are properly managed.

Prerequisites

Employees will have access to guest areas and hotel property; therefore, displaying unwavering honesty and reliability is crucial. Applicants must successfully clear all company-required security checks.

Essential Job Functions

• Must be capable of performing key physical activities such as standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
• Ability to push or pull weights up to 60 pounds unassisted and lift/carry up to 30 pounds without support.
• Standing for up to eight hours and performing movements like bending, stretching, reaching, crawling, and kneeling is necessary.
• Good vision and hearing.
• Effective communication skills with coworkers and guests.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Proper handling and sanitation of linens and supplies with focus on cost efficiency.
• Mastery of guest room cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Understanding of safety and security protocols and promptly addressing hazards.
• Familiarity with training checklists and departmental equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Capability to maintain allocated cleaning time per room and consistently follow prescribed cleaning protocols.
• Professional and hospitable handling of guest inquiries or concerns.

Abilities

• Working independently without supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Adhering to service and quality standards at all times.
• Managing multiple tasks efficiently while focusing on customer service.
• Communicating effectively with guests and team members through various channels including messages and logs.
• Operating hotel management computer systems such as Quore and Hotel Effectiveness.
• Exercising discretion to protect guest privacy.

Daily Responsibilities

• Clean vacant and occupied guest rooms within time frames and accuracy standards set by brand and company best practices.
• Maintain a professional, tidy appearance complying with grooming and uniform guidelines.
• Strictly follow all established cleaning procedures and periodically refresh knowledge every 90 days.
• Report any irregularities or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.
• Help keep other hotel areas such as break rooms, restrooms, public spaces, stairwells, and back of house areas clean and organized.
• Respond swiftly to guest requests and inquiries.
• Possess thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and safety requirements for guests and colleagues.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned, within capability.

Working Conditions and Additional Details

• This position necessitates physical presence onsite; telecommuting is not feasible.
• Work involves prolonged standing and walking while upholding a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Work schedule may require any shift including weekends.
