Job Overview
The Houseperson role requires delivering outstanding guest service characterized by courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism, aligning with LBA's aggressive hospitality standards. The position involves maintaining the cleanliness of public areas, organizing and managing supplies, supporting room attendants to meet cleanliness benchmarks, and helping the maintenance team with minor repairs and work orders.
Prerequisites and Security
Given that associates have access to guest rooms and property, honesty and dependability are critical qualities. Candidates must pass requisite security clearances as per company policy.
Essential Functions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift and carry heavy items (push/pull 60 lbs, lift/carry 30 lbs unassisted), bend, stretch, reach, climb, kneel, and communicate effectively.
- Physical abilities include vision and hearing capacities necessary for effective communication with guests and colleagues.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Properly handle linens and supplies with attention to sanitation and cost control.
- Recognize and report or correct safety and security hazards immediately.
- Understand and apply all procedures and guidelines from the company's training checklist.
- Familiarity with emergency protocols including the Person in Charge role.
- Professional guest interaction by resolving issues with care and maintaining guest privacy.
- Capability to clean guest rooms to brand standards in coordination with room attendants' training.
- Perform basic maintenance repairs such as fixing leaky faucets and running toilets.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and collaboratively as a team member.
- Multitasking skills while maintaining a service-centered attitude and professional communication.
Specific Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, grounds, and parking lots, uphold brand standards, and assist guests with baggage as needed.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for supplies like shampoo, towels, or rollaway beds.
- Undertake minor troubleshooting and maintenance on hotel equipment.
- Set up meeting rooms when required.
- Adhere to property-wide cleaning guidelines for public spaces.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of emergency procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties including housekeeping, laundry, or maintenance tasks within capability.
Working Conditions
- The role mandates on-site presence; remote work is not applicable.
- Endurance for long periods of standing and walking while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Exposure to outdoor elements such as heat and cold may be necessary.
- Work schedule may include any day or shift, including nights and weekends.
