Job Overview
This role involves delivering outstanding guest service efficiently and courteously while upholding LBA Hospitality's high standards of friendly and professional hospitality. The Laundry Attendant ensures that laundry areas and supplies are maintained in a clean, organized, and orderly fashion.
Role Requirements and Expectations
- Adherence to company policies requiring honesty and trustworthiness, due to access to guest rooms and property, with necessary security clearances.
- Preferably has prior housekeeping experience within hotels, hospitals, or similar lodging and care environments.
- Education: High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Must be capable of performing key physical activities such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 60 pounds unassisted, bending, reaching, crawling, kneeling, and effective communication.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of proper handling of linens, terry, and supplies with an emphasis on sanitation and cost effectiveness.
- Familiarity with laundry room protocols and safety/security measures, including hazard reporting.
- Understanding and following systematic laundry procedures as outlined in training materials.
- Ability to maintain logs, inventories, and meet productivity standards.
- Capacity to assist guests professionally, maintaining a hospitable attitude when addressing their issues.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills with guests and staff, including use of messaging systems and log books.
- Competence with required computer systems such as Quore and Hotel Effectiveness.
- Discretion in maintaining guest privacy.
Primary Duties
- Receiving and sorting soiled linens and terry cloth items.
- Treating stains on linens when possible and documenting damaged items, informing supervisors about inventory removal needs.
- Operating washers and dryers according to manufacturer instructions, including maintenance tasks such as cleaning lint traps.
- Folding clean linens and terry fabrics, organizing shelves and storage areas.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry workspace.
- Knowledge and adherence to emergency procedures.
- Responding promptly to guest requests and queries.
- Upholding a polished and professional appearance consistent with grooming and uniform policies.
- Performing other reasonable duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- This position requires physical presence at the hotel; remote work is not feasible.
- The job demands standing and walking for long hours while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Work schedule may include any day or shift, including weekends.
