About the Role

Join Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services as a Retail Security Officer at the ASDA Dumbarton store (G82). We offer a competitive hourly pay rate of £13.10 with unpaid breaks, a guaranteed number of hours weekly, and a permanent work location. This role involves protecting the store, its personnel, and assets by delivering top-quality security services while embodying both Mitie and ASDA values.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, UK law, and regulatory standards as outlined by the Security Account Manager.
• Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, utilizing all provided technology such as body-worn cameras and incident reporting devices.
• Perform all site duties as mandated in the Assignment Instructions, regularly reviewing them for potential improvements.
• Maintain all statutory licenses (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and wear them at all times during duties, with contractually required additional certifications.
• Be systematic, methodical, and orderly in work processes.
• Promptly report any Health & Safety hazards discovered on site.
• Remain alert to potential threats or environmental changes and take appropriate measures to prevent disruption or damage.
• Exhibit professional conduct during challenging situations and with difficult customers.
• Keep detailed and timely incident records for reporting.
• Adhere strictly to schedules and perform check calls as scheduled per Assignment Instructions.
• Contact emergency services and Communication Centre immediately to report incidents.

Training and Development

• Complete all essential competency training satisfactorily including MAYBO and customer service focus.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training as directed by management.
• Ensure SIA license renewal is obtained 16 weeks before expiry; company covers the renewal cost.
• Use technology to enhance job performance and knowledge.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid SIA license is mandatory.
• Preferred prior experience in security roles.
• Must demonstrate a trackable 5-year work history.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Energetic and enthusiastic approach to the role.
