Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Cleaner to join the Network Rail cleaning team based in Preston, Lancashire. This permanent, full-time position involves providing flexible operational cleaning support across multiple sites in the North West region. You will assist with daily cleaning tasks, specialist deep cleans, and cover for staff absences while maintaining high cleanliness standards. Regular travel between locations, including Manchester to Whitehaven and points in between, is required, with a company vehicle provided.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver cleaning operations at various Network Rail locations, supporting multiple sites.
  • Cover for cleaning team members during annual leave, sickness, or vacancies.
  • Conduct routine, periodic, and specialist deep cleaning activities.
  • Promptly respond to client service requests and maintain professional communication.
  • Collaborate with on-site teams to meet cleaning quality and specification standards.
  • Assist with staff training and inductions as needed.
  • Comply with Health & Safety guidelines, COSHH regulations, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Manage stock levels and distribute cleaning supplies and uniforms.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and operational teams.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience in cleaning is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile cleaning, specialist cleaning, or managing multiple site operations.
  • Practical knowledge of deep cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently across different locations.
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding working hours and travel within the region.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adjust to varying operational demands.
  • A proactive and professional demeanor committed to maintaining high standards.
