About the Role

Mitie is committed to creating spotless, safe, and inviting spaces where communities can flourish. We are seeking a diligent Cleaner experienced in busy retail environments to join our team at the Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of public indoor areas within the shopping centre to high standards.
• Clean outdoor sections including service yards, loading bays, and parking areas.
• Adhere to daily cleaning schedules and service protocols precisely.
• Operate cleaning machinery and use chemicals safely and appropriately.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling tasks efficiently.
• Identify and report any issues related to maintenance, safety, or hygiene.
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and contractors.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
• Work independently and collaboratively as necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in cleaning roles is essential.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Ability to understand instructions, schedules, and safety documentation.
• Basic digital literacy including use of smartphones or tablets for job tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service aptitude.
• Dependable, hardworking, and professional demeanor.
• Capable of managing workload efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Positive mindset with eagerness to learn.

Preferred qualifications:

• Background in shopping centre, retail, or other public-facing cleaning roles.
• Familiarity with cleaning tools, machinery, and chemical substances.
• Understanding of health & safety protocols and COSHH regulations.

Additional Information

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, covering any five days out of seven. The role demands a friendly, professional attitude with clear communication skills as it involves direct interaction with customers and colleagues in a busy shopping centre environment.
