Retail Security Officer

About the Role

Join the team at ASDA Motherwell as a Retail Security Officer dedicated to safeguarding the store, its staff, and assets while delivering excellent customer service aligned with Mitie and ASDA’s core values. This permanent position offers a guaranteed number of hours with an hourly pay rate of £13.10.

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training that highlights both safety protocols and customer engagement, including MAYBO certification. Additional benefits include a company-funded SIA licence renewal and the provision of technology such as body-worn cameras and incident reporting devices, supported by Mitie's National Operations Centre (NOC).

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements under the guidance of the Security Account Manager and UK law.
• Engaging actively with the NOC and management to utilize all technological tools effectively for incident reporting.
• Executing all site duties as outlined in the Assignment Instructions, proactively identifying improvements to enhance service quality.
• Maintaining an Industry-recognized front-line security licence visibly while on duty and adhering to mandatory contract-specific courses.
• Approaching duties with methodical and systematic discipline.
• Reporting any health and safety hazards immediately and maintaining vigilance to prevent disruption or damage.
• Exercising professionalism during challenging interactions with customers and preparing detailed incident reports promptly.
• Performing scheduled check calls as per Assignment Instructions and coordinating with emergency services and the Communication Centre when necessary.

Training and Development

• Completing all required competency training satisfactorily and engaging in continuous self-improvement as directed by management.
• Renewing SIA licence 16 weeks prior to expiry with company support.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Possession of a valid SIA License is mandatory.
• Trackable employment history covering the past five years.
• Previous experience in security preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and high energy levels.
