Role Summary

This position is responsible for carrying out receiving and merchandising standards effectively, ensuring associates process merchandise efficiently, and fostering strong teamwork among staff. The role demands delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining an organized, clean store environment while mentoring associates and prioritizing merchandise flow onto the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer experience through engagement and interaction.
• Promote a culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Manage truck deliveries and prioritize merchandise processing for sales floor readiness.
• Train and mentor associates on merchandising and processing standards.
• Ensure merchandise is tagged, hung, secured, and coded correctly.
• Coordinate with Coordinator on Duty to optimize merchandise flow.
• Assign tasks to associates as per store plan and monitor completion.
• Track team productivity and provide coaching when needed.
• Organize and rotate back stock for efficient replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage standards, and store cleanliness including backroom areas.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs where applicable.
• Communicate priorities and progress updates clearly with management and associates.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with management to address training needs and increase team effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs actively.
• Support store shrink reduction initiatives.
• Maintain a safe working environment and promote safety awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varied schedules.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing directions or unexpected issues.
• Team-oriented mindset with effectiveness in working alongside peers and supervisors.
• Capable of lifting heavy items with or without accommodations.
• Experience in training others.
• At least 1 year of retail experience and minimum 6 months in a leadership role.

Location and Salary

The role is based at the Homesense Store located at 4215 W Lake Mary Blvd, Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The starting pay range for this position is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience.
